I was not supposed to have a birthday party this year but my dad’s friend, Colin won a ticket to time zone. He has no children so he gave it to me.

I asked all my friends who were coming to the party to get a small present if they wanted to and to bring some food so I could make a charity basket. I decided  to give the basket to the food bank at our school.

This helped my friends understand that birthdays are not just about getting presents and eating cake –  it can also be about giving to others. I felt very happy giving food to people who don’t have as much as us.
