PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

Kia Ora Parents & Whanau,

On Friday last week, the seven Catholic schools on the North Shore joined together for our second annual Cultural Celebration. This celebration sees each school putting on a cultural performance of their choice. The celebration is hosted by Rosmini College.

Our cultural group performed Samoan dances. We have over 60 students in this group, which meet weekly during the lunch break. Their performance was brilliant! The students can be very proud of how they performed.

Our sincere thanks to Gallo for guiding and preparing our students for this very special event.

The previous evening saw approximately 150 members of our Filipino community come together to celebrate the Philippines Independence Day. It was a lovely gathering in which delicious Filipino dishes were shared, games were played and parents were able to have a catch-up with one another.

Our thanks to Raissa and Michelle for organising this special event for our community.

The Principal’s Message will cover the following topics:

  • Monsignor David Tonks
  • Team Kea Liturgy
  • Student-Led Conferences
  • Support Staff Week
  • PTA Meeting
  • Dental Bus
  • Cultural Group
  • Filipino Family Gathering

Monsignor David Tonks

Dear Parishioners & Friends,

Monsignor David Tonks is incredibly grateful for all your support, prayers, get well cards, flowers and visits. Having now come through his open-heart surgery, he is exhausted and in need of a really good rest while he undergoes a period of rehabilitation. Bishop Pat advises us No visitors for the next two weeks. This will allow him a complete rest and time to recover.

Monsignor David says please do not expect a response to your txt messages, emails or phone calls during this period. We will let you know when the visiting can resume. In the meantime, please continue to keep him in your prayers.

Thank you!

Team Kea Liturgy

Team Kea will be celebrating their liturgy this Thursday, June 17th at 2pm in the School Hall. All Team Kea whanau are most welcome to join this special liturgy.

Student-Led Conferences

Over the next three weeks, teams will be having their Student-Led Conferences. These are an opportunity for students and teachers to share with parents the learning the student has achieved through the first half of the school year.

Being part of our reporting procedure, we ask that all parents, with their child, attend their children’s conferences. This is a wonderful opportunity for you to support and celebrate your child’s learning progress.

Your child’s teacher will be contacting you via email to arrange a suitable time for you and your child to meet here at school in coming weeks.

Support Staff Week

Last Week We Celebrated NZ Support Staff Week

We are very blessed with the wonderful support staff we have in our school. They are extremely dedicated in supporting our students and staff with their learning and teaching. Our thanks to all of our support staff for the wonderful way in which they share their talents with us all in a very positive way.
