PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

7 February 2022

Dear Parents

Tomorrow the school opens for the 2022 school year. We are looking forward to welcoming the students back as well as welcoming the new students to our school community.

The following procedures are in place for the children’s arrival and departure. Please read them carefully:

Morning Drop Off – 8.15 am – 8.50 am

  • The school gate opens at 8.15 am.
  • Cars that arrive before the gates open need to park in the top car park.
  • NO PARKING IN THE DRIVE / FRONT OF SCHOOL GATEl
  • No parent is to come to the front of the office with their child.
  • All students enter the school grounds next to the office.

Walking / Biking

  • Students walk to the back of the church where they wait.
  • Students will be escorted across the carpark by a staff member.
  • Students need to be 1 metre apart.

Drop off – Parents Needing to Get Out of Their Car

  • Park in the lower carpark.Get your child out of the car and walk them to the back of the church.
  • Students will be escorted across the carpark by a staff member.
  • Students need to be 1 metre apart.

Drop off – Parents NOT Needing to Get Out of Their Cars

  • Students are dropped off in the drop off zone. There are two drop off lanes.
  • When your car is stationary your children can exit the vehicle onto the path, that will see them walk safely into school.
  • Students will walk directly to their Home Group when dropped off in the morning.
  • Adults are asked to stay in their cars with masks on.

Bus Students

  • Walk down the Dominion Street drive.
  • Go through the courts and walk along the path by HG 9, 10, 11.

Pick Up – 2.30 pm to 3.15 pm

  • The school gate opens at 2.30 pm.
  • Cars that arrive before the gates open need to park in the top car park.
  • NO PARKING IN THE DRIVE / FRONT OF SCHOOL GATE.
  • No parent is to come to the front of the office to collect their child.
  • All students exit by the entrance next to the office.

Walking/Biking

  • Parents wait by the back of the church.
  • A staff member will call for the child and walk them to the parent.

Pick Up – Parents Needing to Get Out of Their Car

  • Park in the lower carpark.
  • Parents wait by the back of the church.
  • A staff member will call for the child and walk them to the parent.

Pick Up – Parents NOT Needing to Get Out of Cars

  • Adults must stay in their cars with masks on.
  • Please have your child’s name & Home Group number clearly displayed when you are collecting them in the pick up zone.Your child will be called to the pick up zone and escorted to you car.

Lake House Café

  • Parents who normally collect their children at the Lake House Café will be able to to do so.
  • Students will leave school at 2.50 pm and walk down Fred Thomas Drive.

Rosmini and Taharoto Rd Buses

  • Rosmini and Taharoto Rd Bus students will be accompanied by the duty teacher to the bus at 2.50 pm from the quad.

Mask Wearing on Buses

  • From 11.59pm 3 February 2022, all students aged eight years and over or are students in Year 4 and above legally must wear a mask on school transport (both Ministry and regional council-operated) and public transport services in the Red and Orange traffic light settings unless they have an exemption.

Collecting Rosmini Students

  • Parents of St Joseph’s and Rosmini students are to park in the top Parish car park once they have collected their St Joseph’s students and wait in their cars for their Rosmini student.
  • Parents picking up students from Rosmini and St Joseph’s please do so after 3 pm.
  • Rosmini students being collected by parents access the car park via the Dominion Street entrance.
    The courts will be closed for cars.

sKids

  • sKids is open for before and after school care.
  • Morning students will be escorted to the entrance by the office in the morning.
  • Afternoon students will walk to the back door of the hall at 2.50 pm.

Kumon

  • Students attending Kumon will come to the front of the office at 2.50 pm and will be escorted across the car park.

We appreciate that this is an extensive range of measures for the beginning and end of the school day. They are designed to ensure that both students and staff are safe. Please be patient, as there are 400 plus students that arrive and leave school daily. We appreciate your support of the staff in achieving this routine.
