ST JOSEPH’S CATHOLIC
SCHOOL
TAKAPUNA

PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

Dear Parents and Whānau

Wacky Hair Day was a great success. It was lovely to welcome the children with their wonderfully colourful hairstyles. Great fun for them all and the staff. The school raised over $700 dollars for Leukemia and Blood Cancer NZ.

This week we have been celebrating Jubilee Children’s Week for our church. On Sunday there will be a Mass in St Peter’s Square on Sunday, 25th May at 8pm NZT. It can be viewed on the ‘Vatican News Live’ channel on YouTube.

Next week we will be celebrating NZ Catholic Schools Day on Wednesday, 28th May. This is a day in which we give thanks for the many Orders who set up the Catholic Schools throughout NZ and for the many dedicated parents and staff of the schools who have ensured they are the great schools they are today. Our Catholic Schools are the education arm of the church, supporting parents and the parish in the development of the faith of our children. They are also excellent places of learning. We are blessed as a country to have such a strong Catholic education system.

Have a wonderful weekend.

2025 COLOUR RUN

CATHOLIC SCHOOL DAY

TUMMY BUG CIRCULATING

There is currently a stomach bug going around school communities. Please encourage you children to wash their hands regularly. Should you child suffer the results of the tummy bug, they are required to stay away from school for the following two days (48 hours). Please can you support this procedure as we would like to minimise the impact of this bug on our school community. Thank you!

PTFA’S AGM MEETING

CAR PARK

Thank you to all our parents who take great care at pick-up and drop-off time. With so many parents dropping off and collecting their children by car it is really important that parents are patient. This particularly applies when the car park is used by people attending events as occurred yesterday. The majority of the car park is a Parish car park. Yesterday saw a funeral being held in the afternoon along with Rosmini College parent teacher interviews. These events see parking for pick-up being limited.

On such days please be patient. Thank you!
