PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE
Mahal na Magulang
This morning at school prayers we celebrated Monsignor David’s 50th anniversary, Monsignor was ordained on the 15th June, 1975 at his home parish, Ellerslie. Today’s celebration included the students in the liturgical dance group performing for Monsignor. They were wonderful. All home groups had made a congratulatory card for Monsignor and representatives from each home group presented their card to Monsignor. The school sang beautifully and Monsignor was very grateful for the celebration.
As you will note above, next Friday, the 20th of June, is the Matariki public holiday. All schools will be closed for the day. Enjoy the long weekend and check out the many Matariki celebrations that will be happening around Auckland.
Monday, 23rd June is a big day for our children and our school community. The Board of Trustees will be putting on a Matariki breakfast, beginning at 7:30am, to celebrate Matariki. We have ‘Sharing the Learning’ beginning at 8:15 am on this day, as well as on the mornings of Tuesday, 24th June and Wednesday, 25th June. In addition, we’ll be holding “Book Week” which begins on Monday, 23rd June with a Book Character Parade. Children are encouraged to come along dressed as their favourite Book Character that day. The parade will begin about 9am following roll call. All whanau are welcome to join us for all three events.
