ST JOSEPH’S CATHOLIC
SCHOOL
TAKAPUNA
PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE
Dear Whānau
Happy Fathers Day to all the Dad’s. It was lovely to see so many join us for a coffee and muffin this morning. Enjoy your special day on Sunday.
It is hard to believe there are only a couple more weeks of this term to go. The children have ‘settled’ following their AWESOME performance of ‘Moana Jr’ and they are enjoying the calm, focused programmes of learning which will take them through to the end of the term.
Our Kiwi Team is currently going for swimming lessons at the Hilton Brown Swimming School. They are going three days a week for three weeks. Next term, the Kakapo and Kakariki team will be going to the Millennium Pool. They swim two days each week for four weeks.
As a school we rely on parents paying the teaching and learning contribution, as it is through these contributions that we are able to pay for these swimming lessons and the buses that take the children to the pools. We would really appreciate everyone paying their contributions as they allow us to provide a broad, exciting programme of learning for our Tamariki.
The Catholic office has asked us to inform parents that their Attendance Dues are required to be paid either at the beginning of the school year or each term. Parents are no longer allowed to wait until the end of the year to pay them. Please could you review your last account and ensure that you have paid for the equivalent of three terms of Attendance Dues. Thank you.
Enjoy the FOUR big games this weekend. Tonight the All Whites are playing Australia and the NZ Warriors vs the Sea Eagles; while tomorrow night the All Blacks’ are playing South Africa; and finally the Black Ferns vs Ireland in the wee hours of Monday morning. Here’s hoping your team wins!
Have a wonderful weekend

PTA MOVIE NIGHT – IMPORTANT UPDATE
A big thank you to everyone who showed interest in our upcoming Movie Night next Thursday, September 11th. Unfortunately, with winter bugs making their way around and families still catching their breath after the school production, ticket sales have been lower than hoped.
So we have decided to put the Movie Night on hold for now.
Anyone who has purchased a ticket will be refunded in the coming days and we look forward to bringing the community together at future events.
If you have any questions please email us at pta@sj.school.nz
Kind regards
– The St Joseph’s PTFA
