PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE
Kia ora Parents
It has been a busy start to the term with the new children arriving on Monday, Kakapo and Kakariki teams going swimming Wednesday and Friday, Dental van visiting Friday and to top it all off the driveway and carpark pot hole repairs.
Thank you so much for patience and care over the last three days with drop off and pick-up. We are fortunate as a school community to have access on and off the school property and to have parking on site. Being next to the Taharoto Rd, Anzac St, Fred Thomas Drive, Killarney St intersection is certainly challenging and then there is turning right into Dominion St from Taharoto Rd. On top of that the buses. We genuinely appreciate that parents have kindly come in early to collect their children in order to reduce congestion. We look forward to ‘week two’ being ‘normal’.
This term is the final for the year and we have a few end of year events. These are on the school calendar which is on the school website. Please check the calendar out on a regular basis as events will be published as they are confirmed.
I have just received word that three of our boys who are in Year 7 at Rosmini College, today won a place in the final of the Year 7 Speech competition. There were twenty participants in the competition and there were four places for the final. Congratulations to Oliver, Noel and Emmanuel. We wish them all the best for the final on Tuesday.
76 sleeps or 1821 hours or 109,260 minutes to go until Christmas!
Take care

MEASLES
Measles cases in Aotearoa
Recent measles cases linked to overseas travel have been reported in Te Tai Tokerau and Queenstown. Cases were active in the community while infectious and there is a risk of measles circulating there, and more widely in Aotearoa.
Points to share with parents, caregivers and the school community:
- Measles is very contagious and can make people of any age very sick.
- Watch for measles symptoms – fever, cough, runny nose, sore eyes and a blotchy rash.
