Welcome to the St Joseph’s Catholic School Takapuna website!

We are a school, rich in history, with close links to Bishop Pompallier, Eruera Patuone and the Mercy Sisters. The first school on this site was St Mary’s Industrial School., founded in 1846. After this closed, St Joseph’s was started as an orphanage and small school in 1893.

Our “Charism” or “Gift” is Mercy. Our school values and motto reflect this. We retain close ties with the Mercy Sisters.

Our outlook is modern and our facilities and teaching practice mirror this. The learning spaces are beautifully designed, very colourful and are suited to collaborative and innovative teaching and learning.

Our grounds are extensive and have many lovely trees and gardens, as well as a variety of playing areas for sport and physical exercise.

We have close links with the parish and priests and the church is situated on the same campus.

If you are considering enrolling your child, I recommend doing so well in advance.

God bless!
