Litterless Lunch / First Holy Communion

Litterless Lunches

The Eco leaders of St Joseph’s have come up with a new challenge for students: Litterless Lunches! “We are doing this to reduce the amount of litter that St Joseph’s creates.’’ says Nic Street, head of the Eco Leaders. It is on a Wednesday every week, till the end of the term, starting tomorrow, Wednesday 5 August. The Litterless Lunches is a program where your lunchboxes cannot contain any single-use plastic. (Examples: chip packets and glad wrap.) Zip lock bags are fine, as long as you wash them out and re-use them. Same for hard reusable plastic containers. We will open this program to the school next Wednesday. The reward for having no litter is House Points! Let’s all do our bit to make our school greener and cleaner!

Help Please for First Holy Communion morning tea.

Date- 30th August 2020

Time-9.30am – 12.30

Place- Hall under St Joseph’s church

On behalf of the parents whose children will be receiving the sacrament of First Holy Communion this year please could I ask for help to serve teas and coffees to the families who are attending 10.30 mass on this day.

Some help may also be required to set out the morning tea.

We would probably need 4/5 parents.

Traditionally the year 5 parents who have been involved the year before will take this on although help is accepted from any parent.

Many thanks in advance

I look forward to hearing from you

Clare Baker
