PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

Dear Parents

Welcome to December. The first day of summer and the countdown to the end of the school year and Christmas Day. How is your Christmas shopping going?

Teachers are currently completing the children’s end of year report. These will be emailed out to parents Friday next week. Please keep an eye out for the reports in your email box.

The children and teachers are preparing for the Year 6 Graduation Mass and the End of Year Liturgy, along with the Kiwi/Kea Christmas show. These three celebrations, and the whanau picnic, provide whanau the opportunity to join their children in celebrating Christmas and the 2023 school year, along with farewelling our Year 6 students.

Please check out the 2024 dates below. We will be providing an opportunity for parents to meet their child’s teacher on Thursday, the 1st of February and Friday, the 2nd of February. A link will be provided next week, which will take you to the booking app. This is an opportunity for you to introduce yourself to their teacher and to share with them your child’s story. The children are welcome to attend the whanau meeting. The students first day for the 2024 year is Wednesday, February 7th.

Enjoy December! (and enjoy the photo of Home Group 7’s Christmas Elves below).

YEAR 1 STORY WRITING – “BASKETBALL”

Storywriting – “Basketball”

By: Polo, HG16

My sister is going to have basketball. I am going too. I am going to basketball on Tuesday night. It will be fun. I will try my best. Miss Luxford is allowed to come. I am going to cheer my sister on. I am going to make everyone proud at the basketball. I love basketball. I am playing with Jose, Miro, Riker, Railley and me! I have a plan. The plan is when I have the ball, everyone goes in the line. I pass to the player behind me over and over until we get to the hoop when he passes to me.
