PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

Kia ora

This week, the children have enjoyed participating in ‘Camp 2024’. They have been involved in a variety of team building activities both with their Home Groups and with their teams. Teachers will now have developed a good connection with the children in their HG along with meeting and getting to know the children in their team.

On Wednesday we had a lovely Ash Wednesday liturgy in the hall. Thank you to the whanau who were able to attend. Our thanks to Monsignor for joining us for this liturgy which signifies the beginning of Lent. This was preceded on Tuesday with ‘Shrove Tuesday’. The children enjoyed making and eating their pancakes, as did the teachers.

Next week we begin our new timetable to support the Government’s new ‘one hour reading, one hour writing, one hour maths’ policy. The start of the day time, 8.50 am and the end time, 2.50 pm remain the same.

We are looking forward to welcoming the new students and new families to our school community next Friday, the 23rd of February at school prayers, beginning 8.50 am

SCHOLASTIC BOOK CLUBS

These are completely optional books that you can order for your child through the Scholastic Book Club. Most classes are participating in Scholastic Book Clubs this year. Twice a term during the school year you will receive a Club catalogue with a different selection of books offered.

There are many books in the catalogue, sometimes at lower prices than elsewhere and there is no obligation to order. Your child may like to use the catalogues as cutting practice or as something to save towards.

HOW TO ORDER (should you wish)
CREDIT CARD — Visit scholastic.co.nz/LOOP OR download the LOOP app. Your order will be electronically linked to the rest of your school’s order. You do not need to complete the order form at the back of the catalogue..

CASH — please enclose cash with completed order form and return to your school.

CREDIT VOUCHER — Please enter details on LOOP or return to your school with your cash order.

If you have questions, please don’t hesitate to ask your class teachers
