PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

Tālofa lava

Welcome to the end of week four.

In the coming week, it is Samoan Language Week. The theme this year is ‘Tautua i le alofa, manuia le lumana’i – Serve in love for a blessed future’. Check out the Ministry of Pacific Peoples for more details about this week.

The week ahead also sees the Ministry of Education Curriculum Day happening on Friday 31 May. This means the school will be CLOSED. The school is also closed on Monday, 3rd of June for the King’s Birthday public holiday.

2024 has seen the Government introduce a number of policies in relation to schools. All schools are looking at, and learning, how these changes look like for the Government and how they then are reflected in each individual school. Next Friday teachers will be looking at the research on the ‘Science of Learning’. This is a basis for the Government’s education policies.

Tomorrow, Mark Bond, seminarian, will be ordained here at St Joseph’s Church by Bishop Steve. Mark has been in our parish this year and he is being ordained as Deacon. Congratulations Mark on your ordination and we wish you all God’s blessing on the very special step in your journey to priesthood.

YEAR 5 EOTC ACTIVITIES

Dear Parents and Helpers,

Thank you last week for helping us learn about hockey, basketball, and robotics for our workshops.  Also thank you for helping us at EOTC Creative Abilities.  I did wheelchair basketball.  It was very hard because we all were too short so we didn’t shoot the hoop.  Afterwards we made muffins.  It was hard because you couldn’t see or hear … it wasn’t what I expected. So thank you for helping us do all this.

Yours sincerely

Daniel
