PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

Dear Parents
It has certainly been wet! Thank you for following our wet day pick-up procedures. These ensure that the children are able to leave safely with their parents.
Unfortunately we were unable to have our ‘Colour Run’ today. However, we look forward to this AWESOME event being held on the first Friday of Term 2, May 2nd. Mark the date on your calendar.
Next week, 7 – 11 April, is our final week for Term 1. We have a couple of events that parents are welcome to.
Sharing the Learning, which is a part of our reporting, is happening Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 8:15 am – 8:45 am each morning. Pick a morning to come and look at the learning your child has achieved this term. This is a wonderful opportunity for you and your child to share their learning progress. Parking will be available on the courts or in the parish and staff car parks.
For our final week of term the programme of learning is focused on Easter. This year Easter is happening on the middle weekend of the childrens’ break. On Friday, 11th April, we will be holding our “Stations of the Cross” liturgy in the school hall beginning at 1:30 pm. Parents are welcome to join us for this liturgy in which all our children are participating.
The final Friday of the childrens’ break, 25th April, is ANZAC day, a public holiday. As a school, we participate in the Takapuna ANZAC parade each year. I would appreciate having our students join me in the parade, to represent our school community, along with Carmel College and Rosmini College. Details are below.
Please check out the dates for Term 2. And please take note that Term 2 begins on Tuesday, the 29th of April. Our school has a mandated Ministry of Education Maths Curriculum Day for teachers on Monday, 28th April. Fyi, SKids will not be opening that day.
Enjoy your weekend.
Take care

TAKAPUNA ANZAC DAY PARADE

  • Parade Assembly – 8:45am at Sanders Avenue, and the parade marches  on Lake Road to the War Memorial
  • Service – 9am at War Memorial, 1-7 The Strand, Takapuna

Please can parents bring their children to Sanders Ave by 8:30 am where you will meet me.
