PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

Dear Parents

Bishop Steve’s message to the children receiving the ‘Sacrament of Confirmation’ last night was:

Each morning when you wake up, sit on your bed with the palms of your hands facing up, close your eyes and invite the Holy Spirit to be a part of your day. Invite the Holy Spirit to help you make good choices and to give you the opportunity to make someone happy.”

It was a wonderful celebration for the candidates and their whanau.

This weekend these children will be receiving the Sacrament of Holy Communion for the first time. This is the final step of their journey to become full members of our faith. Please keep the children in your prayers.

Friday, next week, is the Feast of the Assumption. This is a NZ Holy Day of obligation. The Feast day commemorates the belief that the Virgin Mary was taken body and soul into heaven, upon her death. In 1838 Bishop Pompallier dedicated our country to Our Lady Assumed into Heaven.

Our Kakapo and Kakariki team will be attending the 9:15 am Parish Mass on Friday, 15th August and the Kiwi team will be having prayers in the learning spaces.

There will be no school prayers on Friday the 15th and Friday the 22nd of August.

We have a busy couple of weeks ahead with our ‘Moana’ production. The stage has been erected and the teachers and children have done an amazing job to prepare for the show. Please ensure you read the ‘Moana’ notice thatis in the Principal’s Message below, in order that you are aware of what is happening and the expectations around the children being present for the evening shows.
