October- the month of the Rosary

The Rosary is a prayer to remind us that Jesus loved us so much that he died on the cross for us. The rosary tells the story of Jesus’ life in four parts: The Joyful Mysteries the Sorrowful Mysteries, the Glorious Mysteries, the Luminous Mysteries. Catholics have been given a very special gift in the rosary. Each time we pray the rosary we should focus on Jesus’ life as well as a special person or intention that we want to pray for.

Remember our school Mass will be on November 1st, Feast of All Saints, at 9.15 a.m.  All welcome.

COMMUNITY OF LEARNERS

Our Community of Learners, (CoL) consisting of St Joseph’s, St Mary’s, St Leo’s, Stella Maris, Carmel College and Rosmini College, has been officially approved by the Ministry of Education.

Together, we want to strengthen the good teaching and learning practices that exist; to learn from each other to improve our teaching and learning practices; to ensure our students achieve to the best of their abilities; to continually grow and learn.

Special Catholic Character is our starting point.

We intend continuing with the Future Focus approach and attitude already started between our schools.

Strategies we will be focusing on will include:

  • Culturally Responsive Teaching and Learning Practices
  • Student Agency –ownership of and responsibility for their learning
  • Collaborative Inquiry by all into ways we can identify what is happening and what needs to happen in teaching and learning
  • Effective transitions – initially from Primary to Secondary but also preschool to Primary and Secondary to Tertiary
  • Assessment Systems and Data Literacy

Good luck to the Marathon Runners and Walkers!

Have a lovely weekend.

God bless!
