Board of Trustees

6 May 2021

Dear Parents and Whanau

Tēnei koe i tēnei ahihi – Good afternoon everyone.

Welcome back to term two. Earlier this year, the Board undertook a mini review of our current school charter and strategic plan. This involved running focus groups with members of our school community to gather their feedback on what is working and what we can improve within our school. In response to their feedback, we made several tweaks to our current strategic plan, which can be viewed here.

Building on this process, we are now looking to undertake a more detailed review process to assist us in developing a new 2022 – 2025 School Charter and Strategic Plan. These documents will help set the direction and priorities for our school for the next three years by outlining:

  • the goals and aspirations our community has for our school and students
  • how we will implement the government’s education priorities; and
  • the key areas we (as a board) will focus on in the short to longer terms to improve the progress and achievement of all our students

Over the course of term two and three, we will be providing a number of opportunities for every member of our community, including students, staff and whānau, to provide feedback and ideas. We are building on strong foundations but as our school grows and we look to the future, we want to understand what is important to you so that we can create a learning environment that will best meet the ongoing needs of our students and the expectations of our community.

We will be kick-starting this process by placing several large boards around our school in the coming weeks that will pose a series of questions to you. Please grab a marker and provide your feedback and ideas as these will help inform the next stages of our consultation process. Over the coming months, we’ll also be providing a range of otherways for you to provide feedback, so please keep an eye on the Principal’s Messages and School Notices for updates on how to contribute. This is your chance to share your vision and aspirations for your children and our school so that we, as a Board and leadership team, can develop a plan that is aligned with these goals and that will help every child within our community reach their full potential.

We value your feedback and ideas so thank you in advance for the contribution you will make to this planning process.

Ka manaakitiea e te Atua – God bless you.
