Principal’s Message – 04 August, 2023

ST JOSEPH’S CATHOLIC
SCHOOL
TAKAPUNA

PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

Kia ora whanau,

Congratulations to our children who received the Sacrament of Confirmation last night. It was a very special evening at our church, which saw whanau, staff and Parishioners coming to celebrate the beautifully dressed children, blessed with the Holy Spirit by Monsignor David and Father Mark Napa. We look forward to seeing these children receiving their First Holy Communion this weekend, at one of the four Parish Masses.

You will have received an email yesterday from the AskYourTeam reminding you to complete the School’s Community Involvement Survey. If you have completed it, thank you. If you have yet to fill it in, please could you complete it this weekend as the survey closes Sunday evening, the 6th of August. Don’t forget to send an email to your child’s teacher when you have completed it, so that your child can be entered into a prize draw for their Home Group.

Have you got the @School App on your device? This, along with the website, is a key communication platform for our school. It contains all of your child’s reports, the Principal’s Message, school notices, the PTFA Facebook page, your child’s school fees statement, as well as other features. Parents are asked to use the App to notify the HG teacher and the office if your child  is absent. If your child is not coming to school, please enter their absence on the App and record the reason. You can no longer record a child’s absence on the school website.

Last week you received your school statement/invoice for your 2023 contributions/dues. The Catholic office has an expectation that all families should have paid 50% of the attendance dues by now, as we are over halfway through the year. We ask that all families pay the full school contributions as these support your child’s programme of learning – school trips, swimming programmes, shows, life education etc – and the wonderful environment that they are learning in. Thank you if you have paid your contributions/dues in full. If you have any concern about these please get in touch with Lizzy, secretary@sj.school.nz. You can check out where you are at with these on the @school app on your phone. Please note: deposits are only entered into our system on a weekly basis. If your latest deposit isn’t reflected on the school statement, please check back the following week.

Ka manaakitia e te Atua.
