PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

Welcome to the end of Week Four.

Time is certainly travelling quickly as we head towards the end of the year.

This week has been a ‘Trip Week’. The Kakariki and Kakapo teams went to the Howick Village and Museum respectively. The children had great learning experiences at both these destinations. The focus this term for the Kakariki team is the Elizabethan Age; and for the Kakapo Team, Ancient Egypt. It was great to see all the children enjoying their visits to both these places.

We are very grateful to the parent community for their support of these two trips, as this support allows us to do the excursions. We appreciate many parents are working, often using their leave to attend these trips. Thank you!

Our Athletics Day programme has been modified to a “Team Athletics Day” on the school grounds, similar to what the Kiwi team holds each year. The teams will be publishing their day on the school calendar next week. Thank you to the parents who offered to help. You will still be able to support your child’s team athletics.

Our Choir has a couple of performances coming up that we ask parents to support.

  • Saturday 14 November, 5:55 pm – 6.10 pm, Carmel College Christmas Markets
  • Wednesday December 9 – 11:15 am, Shore City Mall

The children have had great fun preparing for these events, so if you can, please come along and support them.

We have swapped out our End-of-Year Celebration and Whanau Picnic, for an End-of-Year Liturgy on Thursday, 17 December, at 9am. Please note this date in your diary.

Our End-of-Year Mass is on Wednesday, 2 December, beginning at 11am in our Church. At this Mass, we will be celebrating Ingrid Young’s 28 years of faith-filled service to our school. Below is an invitation to our community.
