ST JOSEPH’S CATHOLIC
SCHOOL

PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

Dear parents

This week the Year 6 children led the Parish Mass on Thursday. The children were wonderful. The children can be very proud of the way they led the Mass and I am sure their parents and parishioners were rightfully impressed.

Congratulations to Olive and William who won the school speech competition. All the Year 5 / 6 children prepared and presented a speech to their Home Group. Two children from each HG presented their speech to the Kakariki Team. As winners of the school speech competition, Olive and William participated in the North Shore Catholic Schools speech competition. They won third equal place.  A well deserved achievement.

We have a busy final week of our term. It begins with our Matariki Breakfast, followed by our book character parade in the school hall. The parade is the opening of our Book Week. Book Week sees scholastic book display in our activities room where children and parents can purchase books. We have author Sam Smith visiting today as part of this Book Week. Today the children have visited the display and will have a ‘Favourite Books’ sheet to share with you. The school receives credit for all the books purchased by parents. The credit allows us to purchase books for our library. Please check out the details below.

Thursday, 2nd of July, we have our Whanau hui and our school disco. If you haven’t booked a time on the HERO app to meet your child’s teacher, please do so, to discuss your child’s progress and mid year report (which you will have been able to access this afternoon). This is an important part of the school’s reporting process.

The school disco begins at 5:30 pm for the Year 1 & 2 children. The Year 3 – 6 children have their disco 6:30 pm  – 7:30 pm. All children must be accompanied by their parent who must stay for the hour.

Go the All Whites!
