PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

Happy Feast of the Assumption. Our Kiwi Kakapo and Kakariki team attended mass this morning while the Kiwi team had a liturgy in the hall. The children were very prayerful at both of these and following the Mass parishioners joined staff for a Feast Day morning tea.
We are very excited to be able to open our Disney ‘Moana Jr’ show on Monday at the matinee. The children have had great fun preparing for the show and they are really looking forward to performing for you all.
Our last show was ‘Peter Pan’ back in 2018. Between then and now was experienced COVID which saw several years of disruption to our ‘Performance Programme’. It is wonderful to be able to start it up again with Disney ‘Moana Jr’. Our show sees all children preforming in all shows, both matinee and evening performances. Each Home Group performs an item through the show and all Hoe Groups come together to perform the ‘Finale’.
Please note that no photographs or private recordings of the show are permitted. All cell phones will need to be on silent and away. There will be a school recording, which is permitted, that we will share with families in the weeks following the show. Photographs will be able to be taken at the end of each performance.
Thank you for responding to the schools AskYourTeam ‘Community Involvement Survey’. It is great get this feedback from you the parents along with the staff and the children. Your ideas will assist the Board in developing the 2026 – 2028 School’s Strategic Plan. The Board are meeting a consultant to develop this plan, based on the feed back we have received, and it will be published and shared with our school community.
The Board of Trustees voting for parent elections has opened. Thank you to the parents who have put their names forward consideration. We really appreciate the fact that you have done this and that our parent community has the opportunity participate in an election. This will give those that have been elected, along with the parents that have been selected by the Proprietor, the staff member selected and myself, the, the mandate to govern the school in order to support the children and teachers with their programme of =teaching and learning.
The PPTA have called a secondary teachers one day strike on Wednesday. This does not include primary teachers. Our school will be open on Wednesday and we expect all our children to attend school.
