Principal’s Message

Kia ora Parents and Whanau

Welcome to the new school year.

2020 is both a new year and the beginning of a new decade. For our school it is the year of ‘Kaitiakitanga – Guardianship’. A year in which the students develop their understanding as to how they can care for their environment.

Within this theme students will be experiencing a ‘Year of the Arts’. This will see the students reflecting ‘Kaitiatitanga – Guardianship through the arts curriculum; dance, drama, music, visual arts. It is a wonderful curriculum which allows the students to develop the creative side of their many talents.

A special welcome to our new students and new families. It is wonderful to have you join our St Joseph’s Catholic School community.

Below is information for all families for the beginning of the new school year.

Teacher Only Days

The Ministry of Education requires schools to have Teacher Only Days through the school year for the purpose of teacher professional development. Each primary school is responsible for determining when their teacher only days will be through the year. We have aligned two of the teacher only days with two of the days we understand Rosmini and Carmel Colleges will be taking.
